Help St Mark’s Hospital through virtual fundraising

Thankfully it’s easier than ever to get involved through virtual fundraising and help us continue to support 185 years of research, education, and innovation at St Mark’s Hospital, the UK’s national bowel hospital.

With apps like FaceTime, Whatsapp, Zoom, Houseparty, Skype and more, you can get together with friends and family to support St Mark’s Hospital even whilst you’re social distancing.

Collect donations with ease by setting up a fundraising page for your event using Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving, linking it to St Mark’s Hospital Foundation (these links will take you straight to our landing pages), and sharing it with anyone you invite to participate in your virtual fundraising event.

Here are some ideas to get you going.

Host a virtual tea party: Invite friends and family to join you for a virtual catch up over some tea and sweet treats.

Host a Netflix movie night: Netflix has a new feature that synchronises video playback and creates a group chat. It’s perfect for hosting virtual movie nights and TV marathon parties from your sofa. Popcorn’s optional, but recommended!

Sponsored head shave: With all the hairdressers being shut at this time, many have taken to shaving their heads. Why not do it for a great cause? Make it interactive by live streaming it. For any gents feeling extra brave, how about chest or leg waxing!

Whatever you decide to do, here are some key steps to keep in mind:

  • Pick the video chat option that works for you
  • Set a date and time for your event
  • Send invites to friends and family
  • Ask them to donate to your fundraising page
  • Have fun at your event!

Additionally, if you have a birthday or other special celebration coming up, why not ask friends and family to donate in lieu of cards and gifts? You can set up a fundraising page via the platforms suggested above. Or alternatively you can set up a fundraiser on Facebook (select the “Fundraiser” tab on our Facebook page to get started).

Get involved and help raise vital funds for St Mark’s, the UK’s national bowel hospital.
